Tried-and-tested quality –
better safe than sorry!

The best protection for your valuables

Burglar-proof safes from HARTMANN have been certified by neutral and independent certification bodies such as VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH or the ESSA (European Security Systems Association e.V.) and bear the relevant test seal. This means they correspond to the latest European standards as well as the stringent German security standards.

This is quality you can really count on – no matter whether you need a burglar-proof safe for your personal documents or a strongbox for the workplace with the maximum level of security coverage of up to €375,000.

Given the high burglary statistics, this is why a burglar-proof safe really is a must for every private home and company, as important documents, paperwork and certificates are often very difficult – if not impossible – to recover once they have been lost.

Particularly in the case of home burglaries, it appears that perpetrators are no longer focusing exclusively on the more obvious valuables such as cash, jewellery and watches, but on anything and everything that they could stand to profit from. This includes gadgets that the majority of us have around the house, such as laptops, tablets, digital cameras and mobile phones, which is why they should be locked out of sight when we are not at home.

Finding the right level of anti-burglary protection

Burglar-proof safes are differentiated according to different anti-burglary protection classes known as security levels and resistance grades. These provide you with important information about the properties of the safe:

  • The standard used as the basis for testing the safe. The most important standard is EN 1143-1, which is also used by Cologne-based risk management company ‘VdS Schadenverhütung GmbH’ for testing purposes (VdS 2450). A safe that has been tested according to EN 1143-1 is also known as a ‘strongbox’.
  • The most essential design features (such as ‘multi-walled door and corpus’)
  • Concrete, classified security features
  • The insurance classification based on the security features (non-binding reference values)

For more information, take a look at the overview table on the ‘Security levels and resistance grades’ page.
