Narcotics safes
in all sizes and designs

Our narcotics safes comply with the requirements of the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices (Federal Opium Agency). As a general rule, this includes certification according to EN 1143-1. Our certified – and therefore legally compliant – narcotics safes are available in a wide range of different sizes and models. Depending on your requirements, they can come complete with shelves, pullouts or medication drawers.

Our range also includes legally compliant narcotics safes for installation in modular cabinets, and many of our models are available at short notice. Strongroom doors are an ideal alternative whenever plenty of space is required. These protect entire rooms or sections of a building against unauthorised access.

Narcotics safes
from HARTMANN TRESORE

A narcotics safe is an essential piece of kit if you are storing substances that fall under the German Narcotics Law (BtMG).

These substances must be stored in a special narcotics safe, as narcotics involve prohibited substances such as opiates, which may only be prescribed under the strictest conditions. A narcotics safe essentially offers protection against unauthorised access.

It is important to note that it is not down to clinics and other bodies themselves to decide what kind of narcotics safe they will buy; this is determined by the German guidelines on measures for securing narcotics supplies (“Richtlinien über Maßnahmen zur Sicherung von Betäubungsmittelvorräten” dated 01.01.2007). According to these guidelines, the narcotics safe must have a minimum resistance grade of I or higher according to EN 1143-1 (as per Paragraph 1.1). Furthermore, if the narcotics safe weighs less than 1000 kg, it must be anchored securely in place according to EN 1143-1.

If a narcotics safe is too large for the available space, specially secured strongrooms can be created that conform to resistance grade III according to EN 1143-1 as a minimum. This type of narcotics room must be protected with the appropriate certified strongroom doors with a minimum resistance grade of III and additional security for walls, ceilings and floors.
