When it comes to securing your safes and gun safes, there are various different locking systems available to choose from. As standard, our safes are fitted with a double-bit security lock with at least two double-bit keys. The option is also available, however, to fit your safe or gun safe with a different type of lock, such as an electronic number combination lock or fingerprint locking system, which can be combined with various fittings.
On this page, we have put together a selection of different safe locks, handles and fittings for you to take a look through. That said, it is important to note that not every safe or gun safe can be combined with every lock or fittings, so feel free to get in touch and we’ll be more than happy to help you decide which locking technology is the right one for you.
Going keyless isn’t a luxury status symbol or a pointless gimmick; it actually offers some convincing advantages. Ultimately, when you have a key lock, you constantly have to think about making sure the key is kept somewhere safe. No mean feat considering double-bit safe keys can measure up to 12 cm long!
But many safe and gun safe owners don’t realise this until it’s too late. While some people are simply poorly informed about the advantages of keyless locking systems when making their purchase, others simply make false economies by their own admission.
The process of converting a safe or gun safe from a double-bit lock to a keyless system is generally feasible from a technical perspective and can, in many cases, be carried out directly on site by our technicians.
Unfortunately, the financial implications of retrofitting a keyless system are higher than the cost of simply buying a safe that already has this type of lock fitted. If you’d like to get in touch then we’d be happy to advise on whether it would be possible – and make economic sense – to convert the lock on your safe or gun safe, as well as how much work it would involve.
