HARTMANN TRESORE builds new company headquarters

Erster Spatenstich für die neue HARTMANN-ZentraleThe first cut of the spade on the 2. November saw the official start of a new chapter in our company history: HARTMANN TRESORE builds new HQ! The new headquarters are located in the industrial park of Mönkeloh in Paderborn – we are therefore remaining true to our roots.

Around 5.3 million euros are being invested into the complex, which “at long last” will offer all of our employees plenty of space. At present around 42 employees are housed in provisional office containers.

Architektenzeichnung der neuen HARTMANN-ZentraleThe plot, which comprises approx. 22.000 square meters, will house a 2.500 square meter hangar, which in turn will contain a proportion of our production site, warehouse space and a technical department. It will also house a 1.500 square metre administrative area, which alongside the offices of our employees will accommodate a large safe and cabinet exhibition for our customers.

Completion of the project is planned for April 2010. The administrative area is to be ready for occupancy in October.

Advantages for HARTMANN customers and suppliers

Thanks to our large warehouse, customers will in future profit from shorter delivery times of their safes and cabinets. The generous safe and cabinet exhibition will also make choosing the “right” safe an easier process.

The favourable location of the new HARTMANN headquarters for customers and suppliers, in terms of logistics, will also be very beneficial.

The inclusion of our employees

Die HARTMANN-Mitarbeiter beim ersten Spatenstich zur neuen ZentraleIt is part of HARTMANN’s corporate culture to involve its employees in what they do. Employees were able to voice their needs and requirements regarding the new headquarters prior to commencement of the project, and we have tried to realise these as much as possible.

The architectural design was therefore very employee oriented: most of the rooms look out onto a green courtyard, which employees can use during their breaks. The courtyard also symbolically stands for our product, namely the “safe” – “a room, which protects from outside industrial influences.” The architectural office h.s.d., which was commissioned with this project, coined the phrase and stuck to it throughout.

“A ‘safe’ home”

The architectural office h.s.d. from Lemgo, who put in a bid for the 2008 tender entitled “a home for safes”, were definitely able to convince with their ideas. The process, for which six architectural offices had put in a bid, was organised by the hartmannkarin Architektur Planungsmanagement Dresden/Paderborn office, which specialises in supervising planning competitions. In the end and under the chairmanship of Free Architect Delia Bassin from Dresden, h.s.d.’s design won, and the project took off.
